Situated on Val des Bons Malades in Luxembourg, this residential building enjoys a strategic location, close to the Kirchberg business district, and to numerous services still in the planning stages. To the north, the building presents a relatively ‘closed’ but finely crafted facade which shows its solidity and compactness to advantage. Residents access their apartments along exterior passageways which brighten the facade and become a common area, an open-air extension to each apartment.

The brick finishing blends with the tall wooden posts which serve both as safety rails and to ensure a level of privacy for the comings and goings on the passageways. To the south, the facade is much more open, allowing natural light to penetrate into the living areas of the apartments which overlook a landscaped green space at the back of the building.
